For SUV the Ford Expedition or Explorer are the best on its class. If you are looking for a passenger sedan car I would say Chevrolet or GM with their Pontiac G6 or Chevy Malibu. The fact that it's a foreign car and has a very good durability make it valuable even after a few years of usage and doesn't cost as much as a lexus. It also due to the fact that it costs less to fix. Not quite lower overall because the parts costs more than other brand's parts because they have higher quality but the labor is lower because it's much easier to fix while other parts are somewhat cheaper but the labor costs is a pain in the neck. It actually costs almost as much to fix a toyota as of to fix another brand but it lasts longer. I've been working for an auto body shop and they all prefer toyota. And don't ever get a land rover. I drove a new Fusion recently and it was awesome, and the 2010 will be better yet. The new Taurus for 2010 is sweet, and the Fiesta is coming in 2011.
